The Behavior Interventionist facilitates the development, implementation and monitoring of interventions for students in need of tier three behavior support. They will help build staff capacity to meet behavioral and social-emotional needs of students through consultation, collaboration and modeling. Intervention plans will be designed to help students develop more effective skills, increase safety and minimize lost instructional time.Essential Components:Assist in the identification of students needing tier three behavior intervention.Facilitate the development of function-based behavior support plans for students needing tier three intervention.Assist staff with the implementation of behavior support plans.Assist with family communication regarding behavior intervention plans.Collect and share behavior intervention plan progress monitoring data.Provide direct support for students to address immediate behavioral and social-emotional needs (via de-escalation, restorative conferencing, re-teaching, and classroom re-entry).Develop and disseminate resources to stakeholders for effective behavior support.Participate in Student Support Team meetings.Facilitate/participate in intervention team meetings for students needing individual tier three support plans for behaviorConsult regarding students needing tier two behavior intervention to maintain/improve outcomes at tier two.Educators in the Fulton City School District benefit from:Professional development and mentoring designed specifically for teachers new to the profession and/or district;Collaborative professional learning community;Instructional coaching;Multi-year Strategic Plan focused on leadership, literacy, instructional practices, social-emotional well-being, family/community engagement and innovation;Highly competitive salary and benefits.Must possess valid NYS teacher certification in one of the following areas: School Counselor, School Psychologist, School Social Worker, Special Education with experience in behavior support.Apply on OLAS
