Fulton City School District (FCSD) is seeking an exceptional candidate to teach English language learners at the high school level.Teachers in the Fulton City School District benefit from:Professional development and mentoring designed specifically for teachers new to the profession and/or district;Collaborative professional learning community;Instructional coaching;Multi-year Strategic Plan focused on leadership, literacy, instructional practices, social-emotional well-being, family/community engagement and innovation;Highly competitive salary and benefits.Responsibilities include:Providing instruction and academic support services consistent with Commissioner’s Regulations Part 154 to English language learners and multilingual learners at the high school level; co-teaching with general education and special education teachers and supporting student learning through modeling, lesson planning, data analysis and ongoing feedback.Administering assessments to English language learners/multilingual learners as required by NYS and FCSD.Advancing student's knowledge of language and culture.Engaging students in rigorous learning experiences, resulting progress toward high school graduation requirements, as well as career readiness.Actively advocating for and supporting students in earning the Seal of Biliteracy.Successful candidates will also:seek to actively know students’ strengths and challenge areas to design individualized learning experiences and interventions;communicate effectively with families to promote school and community engagement;help create a classroom and school environment that is culturally relevant, supportive and safe; andcollaborate with colleagues in the district's TESOL professional learning community and in the World Languages Department at the high school.Must possess valid NYS certification as an ESOL teacher. An additional certification in Spanish 7-12 would be beneficial and desirable.
