The candidate will collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, administrators, and families to ensure that all students receive the support necessary to achieve success. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of differentiated instruction, data-driven decision making, and evidence-based practices for students with disabilities. Qualifications & Responsibilities Valid NYS Certification in one of the following area students with Disabilities (Grades 7–12) Special Education Certification Provide mathematics instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students with disabilities. Differentiate instruction and utilize appropriate accommodations and modifications to support student learning. Collaborate with special education and general education staff to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Monitor student progress and use assessment data to inform instructional practices. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, progress monitoring, and other required documentation. Communicate effectively with students, parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress and needs. Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and other student support meetings, as required. Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success. Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
