Position Overview: Freeport High School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Earth Science Teacher to join our dynamic science department. Candidates should possess a strong science and literacy background and a strong knowledge of NYS Science learning standards. Candidates should have an appreciation for special education learners, and an instructional toolkit that will foster critical thinking, cross-curricular experiences, and opportunities for students to grow their skills and knowledge. Key Responsibilities: Teach Earth Science at the high school level, including Regent’s preparation Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with New York State Science Standards Utilize data to assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and participate in department initiatives Engage in ongoing communication with students, families, and support staff Participate in professional development opportunities and community partnerships Qualifications: Appropriate NYS certification (7-12_ Earth Science and Students with Disabilities (7-12) Strong content knowledge and a passion for teaching science Experience working in diverse educational settings preferred Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills Familiarity with hands-on and inquiry-based science instruction Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relations with students, parents, and staff Understanding of meeting the needs of multicultural students ONLY ONLINE APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED
