P E R S O N N E L B U L L E T I N Freeport School District is seeking a talented and experienced candidate for a School Counselor position (Bilingual Preferred) at the High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The preferred candidate will have strong knowledge of adolescent development and strong written and verbal communication skills. Job Description: Assist building and department leadership in developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive school counseling program to serve the academic, social and career development needs of all students Work with students individually, in small groups, and within the classroom setting to support and assist them in their academic, social, emotional, and personal development Consult with parents, teachers, administrators and supporting agencies concerning the needs and abilities of students and make appropriate recommendations Update and maintain student records including Individualized Progress Review Plans and student files Plans, coordinates and provides the classroom guidance sessions to meet the identified guidance and counseling competencies in the areas of academic achievement, career and educational development, and personal and social development to assist students in developing decision-making skills and identifying life goals Assesses student needs and makes referrals to appropriate school resource personnel, social agencies, community agencies and alternative programs Bilingual Preferred CERTIFICATION: NYS School Counselor certification required Qualified and interested candidates should respond to www.olasjobs.org/longisland ( http://www.olasjobs.org/longisland ) ONLY ONLINE APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED
