The Floral Park-Bellerose Elementary School District has an opening for a leave replacement for the 2023-2024 school year. The successful candidate will primarily be working in a special education environment with students who are in our 8:1:2 program. Qualifications and Selection Criteria: Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Speech/Language PathologyNYS professional licensure and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence General Responsibilities:Completes in-depth diagnostic evaluations of students’ speech, language, and communication abilities.Provide instruction and support for students with autism and other intellectual disabilities.Work positively with staff and communicate effectively with administration/parentsDevelops and implements effective goals, techniques and lessons.Incorporates available technology (software, adaptive equipment, AAC devices, internet research) to maximize students’ potential.Uses effective proactive and reactive behavior management strategies.Take, analyze and make decisions based on data.Work Schedule: Teacher calendar - 10 monthsAPPLICATION: Please submit a cover letter and resume no later than April 28, 2023.
