Position Overview: Fabius-Pompey Central School District is seeking a dynamic and student-centered ELL/Spanish Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This position includes teaching Spanish 7 and providing ENL/ELL (English as a New Language) services to students in grades 7–12. The successful candidate will support language acquisition, cultural understanding, and academic success for all learners in an inclusive and engaging environment. Responsibilities: Deliver standards-based instruction for Spanish 7, focusing on foundational language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) Provide ENL/ELL instruction aligned with NYS Next Generation Learning Standards Support English language learners through push-in and/or pull-out services, as appropriate Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse linguistic and academic needs of students Collaborate with content-area teachers to support ELL students in mainstream classrooms Monitor and assess student progress in both Spanish and English language development Maintain accurate records and contribute to required state and district reporting Foster a culturally responsive classroom environment that values diversity and inclusion Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives Qualifications: Valid New York State Certification in Spanish (7–12) and/or ENL/ESOL (or eligibility for dual certification) Strong knowledge of second language acquisition and best practices for ELL instruction Ability to design engaging, communicative language lessons Experience working with middle and/or high school students preferred Excellent classroom management and collaboration skills Commitment to equity and culturally responsive teaching practices Preferred Qualifications: Dual certification in both Spanish and ENL/ESOL Experience with co-teaching models and integrated ENL services Familiarity with NYSESLAT and language proficiency assessments Experience integrating technology into language instruction Compensation: Salary and benefits in accordance with the Fabius-Pompey Central School District collective bargaining agreement.
