Director of K-12 ELAReports to: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Curriculum Related Responsibilities: Oversees the overall function and delivery of ESM’s K-12 ELA Curriculum with an emphasis on vertical and horizontal articulation within, and between all grade levels. Thorough understanding of Next Generation Learning Standards in ELA and ability to support implementation K-12.Experience in teaching and supporting The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project (K-8). Conduct Annual Needs Assessment in Collaboration with Administration and Faculty and Staff to determine short and long term goals for K-12 ELA Curriculum. Provide K-12 Staff Development aligned with Instructional Best Practices in the field of English Language Arts. Supervision Related Responsibilities:Supervises the implementation of the K-12 ELA curriculum through formal and informal teacher observation, evaluation, and coordination of professional development. Determines, plans, and/or implements professional development, in coordination with the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction to promote district vision, goals, and initiatives.Assists in the recruitment, screening, and hiring of professional staff members within the K-12 ELA curriculum.Managerial Related Responsibilities:Assists with organizing and implementation of New York State ELA Assessments K-12.Coordinates the selection and ordering of materials and supplies for the department.Compensation: As per Administrator's Contract Start Date: August 24, 2022Posting End Date: July 25, 2022
