This position is currently being advertised for the East Rockaway Jr./Sr. High School. About East Rockaway UFSD The East Rockaway School District is located in Nassau County, NY. The district is seeking a motivated individual who meets the following qualifications: New York State Teacher Certification: Music K-12Experience: Experience teaching at the middle and/or high school level preferred. Working with students with special needs desirable.Other Qualifications: Familiarity with preparing strings soloists and ensembles for NYSSMA adjudication (levels 1-AS). Ability to deliver high quality instruction in both large ensemble and instrumental class settings. Middle school general music, grade 7. Digital music production/composition, including basic recording studio processes. Strong knowledge of technology and its integration into the music classroom. Knowledge of the fundamentals of music, including an understanding and appreciation of all music genres. Familiarity with a variety of recommended instructional practices. Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities. Applicants should be prepared to audition on their major instrument.
