Position Information: East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a Director of Special Education (anticipated) responsible for ensuring special education programs district-wide are in compliance with all Federal and State regulations, as well as supporting alignment with the District’s strategic academic plan and comprehensive improvement plan. Responsibilities will also include evaluating school-based teaching and learning staff, as well as assessing and coordinating professional development needs, in partnership with district and building leadership. Education/Certification: Valid NYS District certificate required (SDL) Experience: At least five years of successful teaching experience. Previous administrative experience preferred, along with extensive knowledge of State and Federal Special Education Regulations, and instructional best practices to support varying levels of students. Experience in development, preparation, and presentation of professional development is also preferred, as well as experience with secondary level special education programs.
