Our schools serve a diverse student body, and we are committed to ensuring equity, innovation, and community engagement in education.Position Overview: The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a highly motivated, student-centered, and experienced leader to serve as the Interim Elementary Principal for one of our elementary schools. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing instructional leadership, managing daily school operations, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and staff.Key Responsibilities:Provide instructional leadership and foster a culture of academic excellence.Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff to ensure effective teaching and learning practices.Develop and implement school-wide initiatives that align with district goals.Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment for all students.Collaborate with parents, staff, and community stakeholders to support student achievement.Oversee student discipline and implement restorative practices as needed.Manage school budgets and resources effectively.Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and educational laws.Qualifications:Required: New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or School District Leader (SDL) certification.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in education, including leadership roles.Proven ability to create a positive school climate and culture.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and the community.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience as a principal, assistant principal, or similar leadership role.Experience in an urban or diverse school district setting.Knowledge of restorative practices and social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives.Retired administrators are encouraged to apply.Application Process: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, two professional references, and proof of certification to the East Ramapo Central School District’s Human Resources Department or on OLASjobs.org.Application Deadline: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.The East Ramapo Central School District is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
