East Ramapo Central School District Job Posting: Music Teacher (Elementary)Position Title: Music Teacher Location: East Ramapo Central School District (Elementary and/or Secondary Schools) Employment Type: Full-Time, 10-month position Start Date: Immediately and 2025-2026 School YearPosition Overview: The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Music Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about music education, culturally responsive teaching, and fostering students’ love and appreciation for the arts through vocal and/or instrumental music.Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging general music instruction aligned with the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts.Provide vocal or instrumental music instruction (band, chorus, orchestra, or general music, depending on assignment).Cultivate a classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and appreciation for diverse musical traditions.Prepare students for school concerts, performances, and special events.Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including multilingual learners and students with disabilities.Integrate technology, movement, and culturally relevant repertoire into instruction.Collaborate with colleagues, arts educators, and school leadership to support interdisciplinary learning and district-wide music initiatives.Communicate regularly with families to support student progress and participation.Qualifications:Valid New York State Certification in Music (all grades).Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.Experience in vocal, instrumental, and/or general music instruction.Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming music classroom.Bilingual and/or experience working in multilingual and diverse school communities is a plus. Salary & Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience and education, following the East Ramapo Teachers Association (ERTA) contract.
