We are seeking dedicated and compassionate School Social Workers to join our team and make a difference in the lives of our students and their families.Job Overview: As a School Social Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting the social, emotional, and mental well-being of our students. You will work closely with teachers, administrators, families, and community resources to help students overcome challenges that may affect their academic and personal success. Your work will include providing counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy for students and families, as well as collaborating on school-wide initiatives to promote a positive school climate.Key Responsibilities:Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with academic, social, or emotional issues.Conduct assessments to identify students' needs, strengths, and barriers to success.Develop and implement intervention plans to support students in overcoming challenges related to mental health, family dynamics, or social situations.Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to address student behavior and academic performance.Provide crisis intervention and management for students and families during emergencies.Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources, ensuring access to appropriate services such as mental health care, housing assistance, and other supportive services.Facilitate workshops and training for staff, parents, and students on topics such as mental health awareness, social-emotional learning, and conflict resolution.Advocate for students' needs within the school system and beyond, promoting equity and inclusion.Maintain confidential case files and documentation according to district policies and professional standards.Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.Valid New York State certification as a School Social Worker.Experience working with diverse populations, preferably within a school setting.Strong knowledge of social-emotional learning, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention strategies.Ability to work effectively with students, families, and staff from varied backgrounds and needs.Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and the well-being of all students.Preferred Qualifications:Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) is highly desirable.Experience with restorative practices, mental health programs, or family support services.Familiarity with community resources in Rockland County.What We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits package.Professional development opportunities and support for continuing education.A collaborative and supportive work environment.The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and their families.How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter through our online application portal olasjobs.org.
