Executive Director of Personnel Location: DistrictwideType: Full-time, 12 month position Start Date: July 1, 2025 (or sooner, if available) Application Deadline: Open until filledPosition Overview: The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and student-centered professional to serve as the Executive Director of Personnel. Reporting directly to the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel, the Executive Director will play a critical role in shaping and sustaining a high-quality workforce across the district. This leadership position assists in the oversight and supervision of all aspects of personnel services including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, certification, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and policy implementation.Key Responsibilities:Oversee day-to-day operations of the Personnel Office in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent.Manage the full life cycle of hiring processes for instructional and non-instructional staff.Ensure compliance with state certification requirements and civil service regulations.Lead employee relations efforts, including investigations, grievance handling, and labor contract interpretation.Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.Support the district’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring and personnel practices.Supervise and evaluate Personnel Office staff.Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.Serve as a liaison to Rockland BOCES, Rockland Civil Service, and the New York State Education Department regarding personnel matters.Required Qualifications:Valid New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) certification.Master’s degree in education, human resources, public administration, or a related field.Minimum of five (5) years of successful school district administrative experience in Human Resources.Demonstrated knowledge of education law, NYSED regulations, Civil Service rules, and collective bargaining agreements.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with systems such as NVision, OLAS, Aesop, Frontline, or other personnel management software.Salary & Benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experience and benefits package.
