East Ramapo Central School District Job Posting: ELL Coordinator Leave ReplacementPOSITION: ELL Coordinator Leave ReplacementStart Date: Immediately through the end of the 2025 School YearCOMMENTS: The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a creative and passionate instructional leader to serve as an ELL Coordinator Leave Replacement. The ideal candidate will have the ability to motivate students to strive for academic excellence and work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging environment that prioritizes academic and social success for all students. We encourage collaborative team players who are eager to become part of a dynamic educational team to apply.RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage all District protocols related to the identification process for English Language Learners in accordance with New York State Commissioner’s Regulations Part 154.Collaborate with the Central Registration Office to ensure appropriate student placement based on selected language acquisition programs.Monitor enrollment trends and student placement Districtwide to determine seat availability.Meet with families throughout the day to conduct orientation meetings, inform parents of their rights, and explain language acquisition program options.Input and manage ELL student data to ensure accurate scheduling and compliance with mandated Units of Study for students in Kindergarten through grade 12.Facilitate professional development regarding NYSED initiatives, including ELL identification processes, screening tools, and program updates.Provide one-on-one instructional support to educators to refine best practices for ELL instruction.Demonstrate a thorough understanding of NYSESLAT/NYSITELL English proficiency levels.Administer the Multilingual Literacy Screener (MLS) as needed.Support ELL students with Interrupted Formal Education (SIFE) by identifying appropriate interventions and strategies.Analyze student data to drive instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.Ensure compliance with ELL identification and placement procedures.Perform additional teaching duties as assigned by the supervisor.What You Need to Succeed:NYS Certification in ESOL or Elementary with a bilingual extension (or eligibility to obtain certification).Bilingual candidates preferred – we value multilingual educators who can communicate effectively with our diverse families!A passion for supporting multilingual learners and a commitment to educational excellence.Strong collaboration skills to work with families, teachers, and administrators.The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Ready to Make a Difference?
