East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a Director of Special Education responsible to ensure special education programs district-wide are in compliance with all Federal and State regulations, as well as supports alignment with the District’s strategic academic plan and comprehensive improvement plan. Responsibilities will also include evaluation of school-based teaching and learning staff, along with assessment and coordination of professional development needs, in partnership with district and building leadership. Education/Certification: Valid NYS District certificate required (SDL) Experience: At least five years of successful teaching experience. Previous administrative experience preferred, along with extensive knowledge of State and Federal Special Education Regulations, and instructional best practices to support varying levels of students. Experience in development, preparation, and presentation of professional development is also preferred, as well as experience with secondary level special education programs.
