Position: Long-Term Leave Substitute - Physical Education Location: Summit Park Elementary School, East Ramapo Central School District Duration: Approximately 3 months Starting 11/15/24Position Summary: Summit Park Elementary School in the East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education teacher to join our team as a long-term leave substitute. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality, engaging physical education lessons to elementary students, fostering physical fitness, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for active living.Key Responsibilities:Plan and implement developmentally appropriate physical education lessons aligned with New York State standards.Create a safe and supportive environment that encourages active participation and positive behavior.Assess student performance and provide feedback to promote growth and improvement.Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to support student success.Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff as needed.Qualifications:Valid New York State Certification in Physical Education.Prior experience in elementary physical education teaching is preferred.Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs and encourage all students to participate.Compensation: Salary and benefits are competitive and based on district policies for substitute teachers.Application Procedure: Interested applicants should submit a resume, cover letter, and copies of relevant certifications via the East Ramapo Central School District’s online application portal and through olasjobs.org.
