EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF ASSESSMENT & INNOVATIONThe Executive Director of Assessment & Innovation is a district-wide administrative position that oversees all aspects of internal and state assessments K-12. The development of district-wide systems & structures, oversight of examination ordering, administration, grading, reporting and other tasks associated with mandated reporting. The position will interface with district and school level administrators in the planning and preparation of an assessment calendar with checkpoints for efficient and effective operation. The position will liaise with members of the LHRIC team and internal technology team as needed. The Executive Director will guide all Innovation work across the district including knowledge of instructional practices at the secondary level that lead to Career & Technical Education (CTE) opportunities, dual enrollment courses, school design/redesign models that may include experiential learning, portfolio development and P-Tech, Community School, or other educational paradigms.REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction. Collaborate and work alongside the full C & I team consisting of Executive Director for Elementary Education, Executive Director for Secondary Education, & Director of Instructional Technology. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Leads and manages the full slate of K-12 Assessments Has knowledge of and experience in the implementation of testing including: 3-8 assessments, HS Regents, NYSESLAT, Renaissance STAR, etc. Ensuring the district effectively utilizes assessment tools to enhance student outcomes, and that assessment data informs and shapes instructional strategies and interventionsProvide training for leaders, teachers and testing teams on best practices in using various assessment productsOffer assistance and direction in the implementation of effective strategies for utilizing third party assessment productsEngage with Third Party Assessment vendors to ensure the implementation of effective assessment strategies aligned with the NYS learning standardsProvide feedback to district-wide Instructional Coaches for appropriate instructional recommendations in their delivery of support to schoolsAssist with conducting regular observations of teachers and administrators as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction Actively participate in regional and state committees, contributing expertise and insights to advance educational technology and assessment initiatives Conduct research and curation of essential information for district’s secondary instructional programConduct instructional examination of CTE programs currently offered as well as feasibility of potential program implementationConduct analysis of living wage data, demographic information, college and technical education programs of study and other relevant information for the recommendation of CTE related studiesProvide timely reports of innovation data collection, CTE, dual enrollment and other instructional programs to guide district-wide decision makingKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING:Strong sense of instructional, innovative and assessment knowledgeExperience in leading data discussions with team of teachers and administratorsSignificant experience in instructional best practices based on formative and summative assessmentsAvailable and willing to actively participate in school communitiesUnquestioned integrity and commitment to the ERCSD mission and willingness to serve the diverse ERCSD community.Experience in professional development and leadership roles working with adultsAbility to plan, model, coach and provide feedback to individual teachers and teams of teachers to improve teaching and learningExperience with building and maintaining culturally responsive learning environments that celebrate the diversity of both students and staff Ability to model positive and healthy character traits and habits, such as being organized, consistent and understanding.QUALIFICATIONS:NYS SDA/SDL Certification
