Job Title: Special Education TeacherLocation: East Ramapo Central School District Position Type: Full-Time, Probationary The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a passionate and certified Special Education Teacher to join our team. This is a full-time, probationary position offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact on students with diverse learning needs in a supportive, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.Provide differentiated instruction in self-contained, inclusive, or resource room settings based on student needs.Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to support student success.Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to promote academic and personal growth.Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and needs.Participate in professional development and contribute to the school’s special education team.Participate in CSE meetings.Requirements:Valid New York State certification in **Special Education**, including but not limited to: Students with Disabilities (SWD) – Birth to Grade 2, Grades 1-6, or Grades 7-12.Prior experience working with students with special needs is strongly preferred.Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations, including the development and implementation of IEPs.Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
