Job Posting: Bilingual Yiddish Special Education Substitute TeacherJob Summary:The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a qualified Bilingual Yiddish Special Education Substitute Teacher to provide temporary support in our special education classrooms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, bilingual proficiency in Yiddish and English, and the ability to effectively manage and support students in a diverse learning environment.Key Responsibilities:Teach Students: Deliver instruction according to lesson plans and IEPs, adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students in the absence of the regular teacher.Manage the Classroom: Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment. Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure students remain focused and engaged.Perform Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary administrative duties such as taking attendance, preparing reports, and documenting student progress as required.Promote Positive Behavior: Encourage and reinforce positive student behavior. Implement strategies to support students' social and emotional development while managing any behavioral challenges.Ensure Safety and Security: Monitor and ensure the safety and security of students at all times, including during classroom activities, transitions, and other school events.Support District Duties: Assist with other related duties as assigned by the school or district, including collaborating with other staff and participating in school activities.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.Experience: Experience working with students in a special education setting is preferred. Previous substitute teaching experience is a plus.Skills: Strong bilingual communication skills in Yiddish and English; effective classroom management skills; ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs.Attributes: Patient, flexible, and dedicated to supporting students with special needs.
