Position: Director of Pupil PersonnelLocation: Districtwide Type: Full-time, 12-month position Start Date: July 1, 2025 (or sooner, if available)Application Deadline: Open until filledPosition Overview:The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered leader to serve as the Director of Pupil Personnel. This administrative position plays a critical role in overseeing the implementation of programs and services that support the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional development of all students, particularly those requiring special education and related services. The Director will support the Executive Director and Assistant Superintendent in ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and in driving best practices to meet the diverse needs of students and families. The candidate must demonstrate proven success to improve student achievement and possess experience in a large, diverse district with a substantial multilingual student population.Key Responsibilities:Provide leadership and support in the planning, coordination, and supervision of all pupil personnel services, including the provision of psychological, social work and nursing services.Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures aligned with IDEA, NYSED regulations, and district goals.Monitor and ensure compliance with all state and federal mandates related to special education and pupil personnel services.Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, service providers, and families to promote inclusive practices and appropriate educational placements.Participate in district-wide initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes, including Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and social-emotional learning.Oversee the timely scheduling and facilitation of Committee on Special Education (CSE) and Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) meetings, ensuring proper documentation and service delivery.Support recruitment, supervision, and professional development of pupil personnel staff.Serve as a liaison between the district and external agencies, service providers, and community organizations.Analyze data to inform decision-making, monitor program effectiveness, and report on student progress. Required Qualifications:Required Certification: New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) certification.Education: Master’s degree or higher in Education, Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of successful administrative experience in special education or pupil personnel services preferred.Strong working knowledge of NYS and federal laws and regulations governing special education.Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative teams and support staff development.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
