Position Title: Executive Director of Secondary Education, 7-12Office: Secondary EducationReports to: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and InstructionEducation/Certification:Valid NYS District certificate required (SDA/SDL)Experience and Qualifications:At least five years of successful teaching experience at the secondary levelAt least three years of successful leadership as a school or district administratorSuperior interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Understanding of instruction, assessment, and instructional support strategies Major Responsibilities and Duties: The Executive Director of Secondary Education, 7 - 12 assists the Assistant Superintendent in the areas of curriculum development, teaching and learning, and assessment, by strengthening the instructional leadership capacity of principals and school leaders to improve conditions of teaching and learning. The successful candidate: Provides leadership in the development and implementation of quality instruction for secondary level studentsManages and oversees the development, implementation, monitoring, and refinement of the program of studiesOversees current advanced and post-secondary programs, including staffing, and enrolling, with particular emphasis on advanced and post-secondary programs.Serves as a resource to administration and school leadership teams to assist in creating a culture of continuous learning and improvementConducts student disciplinary hearings and completes related documentation in the mandated time frames; Anchors alignments of key secondary goals to the District’s Academic and Fiscal Strategic plans and to effectively provide support in building-specific School Comprehensive Education Plans (SCEP) development with the ability to build and strengthen the instructional leadership capacity of principals to improve conditions of teaching and learning;Provides insight and expertise in secondary school development and implementation of multi-tiered systems of academics and social-emotional supports (MTSS)Collaborates with the Executive Director of Elementary in review and refinement of curriculum resources to ensure that the District maintains educational objectives on a K–12 continuum;Articulates with Directors, School Administrators, and other staff to ensure that learners have access and are offered the best possible services from all areas of the District;Ensures proper administration, scoring, and reporting of all NYS assessments in grades 7-12;Participates on the District’s Master Scheduling team;Carries out other duties designated by the Assistant SuperintendentAssists in the evaluation and supervision of District administration and teachers.Salary Regionally competitive
