Education/Certification:Master’s degree in Mathematics Education or a related fieldValid NYS teaching certificate in Mathematics for grades 7-12 Experience and Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in secondary mathematicsStrong leadership and communication skillsProficiency in data analysis and curriculum developmentFamiliarity with educational technology and its integration into instructionDemonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in educationExperience in mentoring and coaching teachers Position Goal(s): As the Math Coordinator (7-12) you will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a rigorous and engaging math curriculum that supports the academic success of our students. This role involves curriculum development, professional development, and data-driven decision-making to drive student achievement in mathematics, ultimately leading to improved student performance on New York State and Local Assessments. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction:Collaborate with math teachers and instructional leaders to design, implement, and refine a standards-based math curriculum for grades 7-12Provide guidance and support to math teachers in instructional strategies, differentiation, and assessment practicesLead professional development workshops and training sessions to enhance math instructionAnalyze student performance data to identify trends and implement strategies for improvementStay up-to-date with best practices in math education and incorporate them into curriculum and instructionFoster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes a love for mathematicsAct as a liaison between the school district and math-related community organizations or resourcesAssist in the selection of math textbooks, resources, and technology toolsParticipate in district-wide committees and initiatives related to math educationWillingness to pursue TESOL courses for certification.
