Position: Elwood Schools District-wide Substitute Nurse (Grades K-12) Hours: Start and end time will vary depending on the building requiring coverage. Position Overview: Provides substitute coverage as needed in all schools serving kindergarten through high school. The School District-wide Substitute Nurse will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students in grades K-12. Performance Responsibilities: • Administer student health assessment, medication, and treatments in accordance with established first aid protocol and procedure. • Administer first aid and emergency aid in accordance with established first aid protocol and procedure. • Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date health records. • Assist with hearing, vision, and scoliosis screenings. • Ensure that all NYS health requirements are met. Qualifications: Valid NYS Registered Professional Nursing License is required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred. Ability to obtain BLS CPR certification. Experience in pediatric or school nursing is preferred.
