Effective Date: July 1, 2025 Primary Functions and Responsibilities: Provide strategic oversight and direction for all instructional operations within school building.Supervise, mentor, and evaluate all faculty and staff, including conducting formal observations and performance reviews to foster professional growth and ensure instructional excellence.Develop and manage a fiscally responsible building budget that strategically allocates resources to support the diverse needs of the student population and align with educational priorities.Lead and facilitate various building-level committees, including but not limited to the Shared Decision-Making Team, Technology Committee, New Teacher Academy, Principal’s Advisory Council, and Curriculum Council, ensuring collaborative decision-making and effective communication.Contribute to staffing decisions and develop a comprehensive Master Schedule that effectively addresses student course requirements and academic interests.Oversee the administration of all standardized testing, including Advanced Placement (AP) and Regents Examinations, and ensure the integrity of grading procedures, report card generation, and progress reporting.Maintain accountability for all student testing and attendance data, ensuring accuracy and utilizing data to inform instructional practices and school-wide initiatives.Ensure the establishment and maintenance of a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment conducive to optimal student engagement and achievement.Actively participate as a member of the District Leadership Team, contributing to district-wide strategic planning and effectively executing all duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.Qualifications: Successful experience as a school principal or assistant principal for a minimum of three yearsThorough understanding of all Learning Standards, Commissioner’s Regulations and NYS Education LawExceptional interpersonal, motivational and leadership skillsRequirements: NYS certification as School Building Leader (SBL)Compensation: Competitive for region in accordance with the Elwood Council of Administrators’ Collective Bargaining Agreement Elwood School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer
