Position: Elwood School District-wide Nurse (Grades K-12)Hours: 8:45 am – 3:45 pm (7.0 paid hours per day. Start and end time will vary slightly depending on the building requiring coverage)Effective: February 2025Position Overview: Provides substitute and additional coverage as needed in all schools serving kindergarten through high school. When substitute or additional coverage is not needed, the nurse will be assigned to the school requiring the most medical assistance. The School District-wide Float Nurse will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students in grades K-12. Performance Responsibilities:Administer student health assessment, medication, and treatments in accordance with established first aid protocol and procedure.Administer first aid and emergency aid in accordance with established first aid protocol and procedure.Assist the building nurse with maintaining accurate and up-to-date health records.Assist the building nurse with hearing, vision, and scoliosis screenings.Work collaboratively with district-wide nurses to ensure that all NYS health requirements are met.Qualifications: Valid NYS Registered Professional Nursing License is required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred. Ability to obtain BLS CPR certification. Experience in pediatric or school nursing is preferred.
