POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Must have the ability to multitask and work independently. Candidates should be experienced, organized, detail oriented and possess a strong knowledge of modern financial accounting, record keeping, as well as laws, policies, procedures, and regulations related to school district finances are preferred. Must take initiative in solving problems and completing projects in compliance with deadlines, changing laws, guidelines and auditor's requirements. Familiarity with nVision or similar financial systems preferred.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist in supervising business office personnel including accounts payable, purchasing, payroll and benefits and oversees the responsibilities of the Deputy TreasurerSignatory and oversight of all cash disbursements, including electronic payments.Responsible for monitoring all District bank accounts daily, including all cash receipts, and all treasury functions including investments.Complete monthly financial accounting and related reports for the Board of Education.Responsible for all accounting functions to maintain accurate books and records.Completes daily, monthly and annual cash flows to ensure that cash is available to fund operating needs.Maintain the general ledger, cash receipts, and cash disbursements ledgers for all funds.Coordinate the annual independent external, internal, and claims audit activities.Direct and supervise implementation of audit recommendations and internal controls.Prepare invoices and account for all district billings and receivables.Preparation and filing of all financial reports with state and federal agencies.Analyze records needed to prepare and file Medicaid Cost Report.Preparation of annual ST-3 and completion of NY State Aid filings with SED.Analyze equipment purchases and disposals and provide CBIZ with schedules needed to maintain Fixed Assets.All other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:State Education Department Certification - SDA (School District Administrator), SBA (School Business Administrator), or SDBL (School District Business Leader) AND/OR CPA (Certified Public Accountant) AND/OR current public school district business office experience AND/OR public school district auditing experience preferred.Qualified candidates should submit a letter of interest and an updated resume online by December 19, 2024 through www.olasjobs.org/longisland to: Johane Ligondé, Ed.D.Assistant Superintendent for Human ResourcesElmont Public Schools135 Elmont RoadElmont, NY 11003
