The District Located in the heart of Westchester County, about twenty miles north of New York City, the Elmsford Union Free School District serves the Village of Elmsford and portions of the Town of Greenburgh. Our close-knit community of approximately 9,300 residents includes about 1,111 students who attend our three schools and UPK program. We are seeking a passionate, student-focused Elementary Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. The ideal candidate will be committed to high expectations for all learners, implementing a rigorous curriculum. Key Responsibilities Instructional Excellence: Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Data-Driven Instruction: Utilize formative assessments and data to inform small-group instruction and differentiate for all learners. Classroom Community: Foster a safe and respectful classroom culture. Collaboration: Partner with grade-level teams, special education staff, and ENL teachers to ensure access to the curriculum for all students. Family Partnership: Maintain proactive communication with families to support student growth and community engagement. Qualifications Certification: Valid New York State Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) or Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) required. Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Experience: Prior experience in an elementary setting preferred Skills: Strong background in literacy instruction (phonics, fluency, comprehension) and mathematical thinking.
