The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Aide to join the team at the Alice E. Grady School. This is an excellent opportunity to support classroom instruction and contribute to a positive learning environment for our students.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Teacher Aide will work under the direct supervision of a certified teacher and/or school administrator to perform a variety of essential duties, including but not limited to:Instructional Support: Assisting the teacher with classroom activities, working with students individually or in small groups on reinforcement and skill-building exercises.Classroom Management: Helping to maintain a neat, orderly, and focused classroom environment; monitoring students during non-instructional times (e.g., lunch, recess, hallway transitions).Preparation: Preparing instructional materials, setting up equipment, and organizing learning centers.Administrative Tasks: Performing routine clerical tasks such as filing, copying, and distributing materials.Student Well-being: Supervising and assisting students with personal care and mobility needs as required, and ensuring student safety at all times.Communication: Communicating effectively and respectfully with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and needs.QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional education or college coursework is preferred.Experience: Prior experience working with children, especially in a school or educational setting, is highly desirable.Skills:Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with children.Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.Familiarity with basic computer applications.Other: Must meet all New York State and Elmsford UFSD requirements for employment, including successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.
