Eldred Central School District has an opening for a Provisional Senior Account Clerk - 27.5 hours per weekSalary range is $23.91 - $27.43 per hour pending experienceThe current Civil Service appointment will be provisional pending an exam, to be announced later.Position Requirements:An employee in this class maintains a complex set of financial records, and compiles and prepares or assists a superior in preparing difficult and complex financial or statistical reports. Work may include the utilization of computers with financial capabilities double entry bookkeeping and business arithmetic; methods maintaining financial records and reports; office terminology, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, and payroll. The assignment of position to this class is based on the complexity of accounting records kept, and the amount of independent judgment exercised in the application of methods to particular problems. Work is performed with relative technical independence and is reviewed by an administrative superior or professional accountant through verification of financial records and statements. Accounting records are also subject to audit by County and State auditors. ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE FOR OPEN-COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION(a) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two-year college with an Associate’s Degree or higher in business administration, accounting or a closely related field; OR(b) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience in maintaining financial accounts and records; OR(c) Three (3) years of experience as described in (B) above.Successful completion of coursework in business administration, accounting, or a related field at a college or university, may be substituted for the required experience with three (3) semester credit hours being equivalent to three (3) months of experience, for a maximum of twelve (12) semester credit hours.
