We are currently seeking Teacher Assistants to work in our school and preschool programs in Staten Island. Teacher Assistants provide instructional services to students under general supervision of a certified teacher. Requires working on a 1:1 basis with a student or with multiple students at a time.Responsibilities and DutiesDiscuss daily with the classroom teacher regarding the progress of the educational programs.Implement and collect data on each student's IEP goals and behavior management plan.Assist students, as needed during activities of daily living/gym activities. (Can vary depending on student's specific needs)Lead or assist in various group activities.Aid in development of educational material.Report all incidents/occurrences to Program Coordinator in the absence of the teacher.Qualifications and SkillsHigh school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred.Strong planning and organizational skills.Must be a team player, caring and compassionate.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm.Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
