Eden II Programs currently has full-time job opportunities for special education teachers within its school and preschool programs located in Staten Island. Our teachers provide educational instruction to students with autism, working on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting.Responsibilities and DutiesDeveloping each student’s IEP goals and behavior management plans in accordance with official mandatesImplement and collect data on each student’s IEP goals and behavior management plansSupervising teacher assistantsAdministering curriculum based assessmentsDeveloping and maintaining individual student data books which include maintenance of graphs, reports, and IEP goalsOrganizing trips and community outings in accordance with IEP goals in conjunction with Coordinator and Director’s approvalWriting progress reports and update ancillariesParticipate in parent teacher conference at least twice per year and participate in parent training sessions as requiredQualifications and SkillsPossess NY state teaching certification (Initial, Professional or Permanent) in special education, or currently enrolled in a master’s in special education program and working toward NY State CertificationStrong classroom management, planning and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience working with individuals with autism and applied behavior analysis preferredAvailability to work a 12-month school yearHours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pmVaccination against COVID-19 required
