Evergreen Charter School is seeking an ELA Teacher for Academic Intervention Services (AIS) in grades 2-4. The mission of Evergreen Charter School (ECS) is to nurture the intellectual, physical and social development of children through a comprehensive program that promotes academic excellence and prepares its students for success in school and in life. The responsibilities of the ELA AIS Teacher will include, but will not be limited to, the following: Support students by implementing research-based strategies to improve outcomes in ELA/Literacy. Create a positive, structured learning environment to ensure that students observe the school’s core values and high expectations. Collaborate with fellow grade and or subject level teachers to plan instruction. Implement formative and summative assessments and analyze the data to inform further instruction. Collaborate with classroom teachers for the purpose of improving ELA instruction and promoting a school-based professional learning community. Demonstrate exemplary classroom literacy practice; model best practices in literacy and improving student achievement levels Commit to professional growth, participating actively in department meetings, faculty meetings, and professional development initiatives. Participate in the extracurricular activities hosted at ECS, collaborate within the team, and meet all professional responsibilities. Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Valid New York State Teaching Certification. Evergreen Charter School is an equal opportunity employer (EEO).
