Evergreen fosters individual growth and development through the implementation of a challenging and comprehensive educational program delivered by caring educators.We are seeking a Spanish Teacher (Grades 9-12) starting the academic year (August 2024).Responsibilities:Plan lessons and activities that facilitate students' acquisition of basic and advanced Spanish Language Skills that align with curriculum standards (and continue to help evolve the lessons)Instructing in a manner that develops students' confidence in their abilities.Oversee and grade projects, quizzes, and examinations.Prepare lesson plans, grading homework assignments and exams, and provide feedback to students.Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.Utilize effective teaching strategies to engage students in the learning process.Provide one-on-one tutoring or small group instruction as needed.Organizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable.Providing suggestions for further learning and scheduling intervention sessions with struggling students.Foster the social and emotional development of students through guidance and support.Provide academic advising to students to support their educational goals.Requirements:Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter and references.Bachelor’s or master's degree in Spanish language or equivalent.Strong Microsoft/Google Office suite knowledge. Classroom instruction and lessons will use Google/Microsoft Office suite. Detailed curriculum and instructional resources will be provided, but the teacher is welcome and encouraged to further develop and improve the class structure and design.Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and commitment to keeping parents informed and engaged.Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.Detail-oriented and resilient.Demonstrate good classroom management skills.Be committed to meaningful collaboration with colleagues.Be interested in professional growth and commitment to continuous learning.Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in education.Ability to effectively manage student behavior and maintain a positive classroom environment.Comfortable with public speaking and leading classroom discussions.Familiarity with education administration processes is desirable.Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
