Job Title: K-6 STEAM Teacher Job Summary:Edgemont UFSD is looking for two K-6 STEAM Teachers who are responsible for developing and delivering an engaging, hands-on curriculum that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. The teacher will foster a creative and inquiry-based learning environment that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving among elementary students.Key Responsibilities:Assist in developing and implementing a STEAM curriculum aligned with district goals and NYS state standards.Design and facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences.Integrate technology and engineering concepts into daily instruction.Foster a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement.Assess and document student progress using a variety of evaluation methods.Collaborate with grade-level teachers to integrate STEAM concepts across subjects.Collaborate with Middle School STEAM teachers to foster a comprehensive learning trajectory. Maintain and organize STEAM-related materials, tools, and resources.Stay current with emerging STEAM education trends and best practices.Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and achievements.Participate in professional development opportunities and school/district-wide initiatives.Qualifications:Valid K-6 NYS teaching certification.Experience in elementary education and/or STEAM instruction preferred.Strong classroom management and instructional skills.Ability to adapt lessons to diverse learning needs.Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning tools.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with robotics, coding, or makerspace activities.Knowledge of interdisciplinary project-based learning.Work Environment:Classroom setting with hands-on learning activities.Interaction with students, parents, and faculty.Participation in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional learning communities.Application Process:Please apply on OLAS.
