Educational Program Trainer/Site CoordinatorThe Educational Program Trainer/Site Coordinator position is a multifaceted, in person role, ideal for a mission-driven, solution-oriented leader. This individual is responsible for identifying and facilitating needed Professional Development, the overall training program, case management and coordination of services. The Educational Program Trainer directs compliance for the agency as well as teacher supervision which consists of ten classrooms over four sites. Trains classroom teachers and oversees pathways of teachers’ certifications. This is a professional position that requires a Master’s in Special Education, NYSED Special Education certification as well as an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership. Essential Responsibilities: Educational Program Trainer :Responsible for the overall training program, case management and coordination of services for agencyArranges Professional Development in collaboration with Executive Director and Leadership Team that is current from noted experts in the field and that enhances program and missionWork closely with Clinical and Curriculum Coordinators to ensure effective links between assessment, intervention and programmingCase manager for the educational programming, development of IEP’s: PLEP’s, goal writing, goal monitoring, program modifications, etc Coordinate and facilitate Discipline Specific Meetings with TeachersSupports orientation of new teachersEstablishes and/or updates Staff Teacher HandbooksResource for teachers along with curriculum coordinator (i.e., lesson plans, data collection, progress monitoring, etc.)Write and maintain Pathways for non-certified teachers.monitor progress quarterly with 1-on-1 meetings Supervision:Observe classroom teachers and provide written feedback as part of their ongoing development maintain supervision binderReview Teacher Annual Performance Review/Self-Review in collaboration with site coordinatorProvide appropriate level of direct and indirect supervision and coaching of teachersEnsures consistent quality across sites for compliance of policies/proceduresThe Site Coordinator is responsible for the smooth functioning of the Site. Coordinates, supervises, and directs all daily functions and performance at the specific Site, including supervision of multidisciplinary classroom team members, as well as curriculum and programming. Ensures that families are engaged with their child’s program, as much as possible.Essential Responsibilities:Program Site Coordinator:Manages visitations of stakeholders; manages clinical placement, student teacher placements, student observations, CPS, OCFS, etc.Ensures classroom enrollment: referrals, visitations, enrollment of studentsOversees/coordinates programming of students at Site: admission, placement, transportation, program reviews, Annual Reviews, discharge, etc.Collects and distributes all necessary documents for programming: collection, permission for records, notification to business office, counties, district, and parentsCollaborates with counties, districts, parents, partnering agencies to ensure effective communicationProvide parent support/training as related to programmingCoordinate on budget annual ordering for site Provides ongoing feedback to the Executive Director regarding program, site child/family issues and staffingStaffing:Directly supervises classroom staff (teachers, therapists, teaching assistants aides) Ensures staff reviews/writes performance evaluations/ professional goals to provide regular feedback to staffProvides for classroom coverage (substitutes, individual aides)Collaborates in the hiring of full-time staff; hires 1:1 aidesOversees orientation/training mentoring new staffCreate a master schedule for fall and summer programming Supervises Office Manager at SiteLeadership Committee:Collaborates and communicates with other sites; ensures interoffice mail is delivered Provides input for professional development and training for educational and therapeutic staff; encourage engagement of staff on committeesPlan and participate in Agency Committees and Events such as picnic, graduation and art show (etc.) to help foster parent relationships. Building and Maintenance:Ensures smooth functioning of Site, staff, teams, parents, students, transportation, housekeeping, coordination of fire drills, locks downs, shelter in place, annual floor cleaning and wax, etc.Oversees health and safety of site; ensures regulations are met (SED, OCFS, DOH, etc.) and inspections/licensure is maintained at Site in collaboration with OCFS Coordinator. Reads the OCFS regulations and reinforces pertinent information with staffSupervises time sheets, schedules, approval of leaveTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. NYS School Administration/Leader Degree. Responsible for maintaining the required training hours; and keeping the appropriate training records/certificates (Aspire account/OCFS), maintaining Teacher’s licensure requirements, etc.Language Ability: Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to parents and other employees of the organization.Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills: Basic Word Processing, Internet software, Google Suite, E-mail, CPSE Portal, IEP Direct.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
