Family Service Coordinator/Special Education Preschool Social Worker Fall 2023Make a difference in a child's life as the Family Service Coordinator/Preschool Special Education Social Worker for the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) Troy Site at 127 Bloomingrove Drive Troy, NY. The site has one integrated class and two self-contained classrooms for preschool children with disabilities (ages 3-5). Successful candidates will exhibit the ability to interact with staff, families and students in a positive encouraging way, demonstrate a professional demeanor, patience, empathy and a positive attitude while possessing a desire to help others grow. Interpersonal, problem solving skills and commitment to the team model is required. Excellent clinical skills and ability to train and coordinate services is necessary.Family Service Coordinator/Social Worker Responsibilities:Provide developmentally appropriate individual counseling and group counseling/social skills groups within the school settingPossess the knowledge and skills needed to provide families with support and advocacy to families in accessing relevant community resources such as SSI, OPWDD, WIC, community based counseling agencies, emergency housing and assistance, etc.Act as a liaison between home and school, supporting families to be informed advocates for their childProvide clinical knowledge and support to the child's teamProvide administrative support to the site coordinatorConduct Social History on multidisciplinary evaluationsQualifications:MSW required, LMSW and LCSW prefer/red with appropriate NYS certification/licensureExperience in preschool and/or Early Intervention special education services is preferred.
