UPK teacher needed to Co-Teach in Integrated Classroom Start date September 2023 sessionFull time UPK teacher needed to co-teach in our integrated classroom at the Schenectady Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC)- 517 Bradt Street, SchenectadyResponsible for 6 regular education studentsMonday-Friday 8:15- 1:15 pm child session with planning, training and team meetings afterwards32 hours per week positionECEC UPK is a child centered program offering a nurturing environment and engaging learning experiences that are developmentally appropriate and differentiated to suit the needs of every individual child. At our school, exploration and discovery are used to learn, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills. We utilize the Creative Curriculum framework which supports our belief that children learn best in a child-centered classroom with a focus on interest areas. Our program concentrates on developing the "whole child" through hands-on experiences. The UPK Teacher must be able to care, supervise and create a warm learning environment while maintaining State and School District Regulations.Responsibilities and Duties:Plan and implement developmentally appropriate child-centered environment and Creative Curriculum aligned weekly unit plans and daily lesson plans.Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being. Coordinate and Model implementation of classroom Pyramid practice and strategiesCollaboratively work with Special Education Teacher and Teacher AssistantsWork with parents to promote understanding of the growth and development of their child; effectively communicate with parents, verbally and in writing, throughout the year, including parent-teacher conferences and activities which promote strong home/school relations.Maintain accurate records including attendance, developmental progress in anecdotal records, assessments, report cards, daily health checks.Follow all agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and studentsParticipate in professional development opportunitiesQualifications and Skills:NYS Early Childhood Teacher Certification Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred (will create a pathway to become certified)Benefits:Paid time offDefined Benefits packageProfessional developmentPossible Early Childhood Credits in the future for certification
