Special Education Teacher - Grades K/12025-2026Waverly SchoolWaverly School is seeking a dynamic and collaborative educator to join our team as a K/1 Special Education Teacher. The ideal candidate will support student learning, actively participate in IEP development and annual reviews, and contribute to a student-centered, inclusive learning environment.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Special Education team and staff to provide high quality instruction to students with disabilities.Develop and deliver specialized instruction tailored to the diverse needs of students with IEPs.Actively participate in the IEP development process, including goal-setting, progress monitoring, and data-driven decision-making.Attend and contribute to annual review meetings to ensure compliance with special education regulations.Utilize assessment tools and student data to guide instruction and monitor student progress.Foster strong communication and collaboration with families, support staff, and administration.Support students' academic, social, and emotional growth.Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and compliance with special education laws and IEP goals.Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.QualificationsNYS Certification in Special Education Required, Dual Certification in Special Education and Elementary/Early Childhood Preferred.Strong knowledge of IEP development, annual review process and differentiated instruction.Effective collaboration skills with special education teachers and support staff.Experience with self-contained programs, inclusive and differentiated classroom strategies preferred.NYSED fingerprint clearance required.Employment Terms:Full time probationary position.Salary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $62,620 - $86,668, step placement contingent upon prior related experience.*Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law ยงยง305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
