Mathematics Teacher, Probationary (AIS, grades 6-8)Middle School School2025-2026Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Math AIS (Academic Intervention Services) Teacher facilitates student success in mathematics through targeted interventions, collaboration with instructional staff, and active participation in the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process. The ideal candidate will work closely with math teachers, school counselors, and administrators to support student growth, ensure alignment with district goals, and foster a positive learning environment. Essential ResponsibilitiesDevelops and delivers mathematics interventions aligned with district goals and middle school curriculum.Collaborates with math teachers to design and implement targeted instructional strategies that support student learning.Works with school counselors and administration to identify students in need of additional math support and monitor progress.Actively participates in the building-level MTSS process, contributing data and strategies to support student achievement.Creates a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for individualized and small-group instruction.Utilizes assessments and data to differentiate instruction and modify teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.Communicates student progress, expectations, and goals effectively with students, parents, and administration.Encourages parental involvement and fosters a strong school-home connection.Maintains accurate records of student progress, attendance, and intervention plans.Ensures student behavior aligns with school policies and promotes a positive classroom culture.Selects appropriate instructional materials and resources to enhance learning.Supervises students during school activities outside of the classroom as needed.Administers standardized assessments in accordance with district policies.Additional ResponsibilitiesEngages in ongoing professional development, including attending workshops, seminars, and training.Participates in faculty meetings, grade-level planning, and district initiatives.Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.Requirements: NYS certification: Mathematics 5-9NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*Employment Terms:10 month, full time probationary positionSalary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $62,620 - $86,668, step placement contingent upon prior related experience. Internal transfers will maintain their step and salary placement.*Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law ยงยง305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
