**REVISED POSTING**Special Education TeacherProbationary 2024-2025Eastchester Middle SchoolEastchester Middle School is currently seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher for a 7th-grade vacancy. The successful candidate will hold dual New York State Special Education and Mathematics certification (or middle school extension) and will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities in both Integrated Co-teaching and Special Class environments.Responsibilities:Provide effective instruction to 7th-grade students with disabilities in Integrated Co-teaching and Special Class settings.Collaborate with general education teachers to plan and implement inclusive instructional strategies.Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.Use a variety of assessment tools to monitor and evaluate student progress.Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and academic growth.Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to provide updates on student progress.Requirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education.Dual New York State Special Education and Math certification (or middle school extension).Previous experience working with students with disabilities in a middle school setting.Knowledge of Inclusive Education practices and a commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*Employment Terms: 10-month, probationary positionSalary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $61,939 - $85,725, step placement contingent upon prior related experience. *Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law ยงยง305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
