The goal of the program is to help students develop a functional proficiency in Spanish by focusing on speaking and listening skills as well as cultural learnings. We are seeking talented and experienced candidates, with a passion for teaching Spanish to early childhood/elementary aged students, to fill two probationary Foreign Language Elementary School (FLES) Teacher positionsRequirements:FLES K-12. Bilingual K-6, K-12 ExtensionDual NYS certification: Early Childhood/Elementary Education and Spanish Knowledge of the American Council of Teacher Foreign Language Standards NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*Employment Terms:10 month, probationary positionSalary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $61,939 - $146,440, step placement contingent upon prior related experience. Up to 6 Days of Professional/Curricular Development during the Summer.*Fingerprint Clearance:SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law ยงยง305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
