All classes are in person.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree and K-12 Teacher Certification preferred. If not Teacher Certified, must be willing to apply for Adult Education Certification and acquire within 6 months or start date. Classes are located within judiciary and community correctional facilities and will require a background check to be cleared for entry.The ideal candidate will have experience working with adults of varied socioeconomic, cultural, educational, and/or differently-abled backgrounds, particularly in an educational setting. Must be confident teaching high school math and language skills. DUTIES: Looking for enthusiastic and nurturing instructors for adults returning to the classroom with the goal of obtaining a New York High School Equivalency Diploma (GED). Instructors are responsible for individualizing instruction for a variable number of students and skill levels, maintaining basic lesson plans and daily outcome records, recording attendance, administering assessments, and communicating with students and counselors.Class runs 3 hours a day, 4 days a week, for a total of 12 hours/week. Students are 18 and older. Enrollment structure is open-entry, 12 months per year.Additional teaching opportunities may be available.GRADE LEVEL: AdultSTART DATE: Immediately
