The Dobbs Ferry School District has an anticipated vacancy for an ENL (English as a New Language) teacher. Effective August 27, 2025 this is a full-time, probationary, tenure-track position located at Springhurst Elementary School. The successful candidate has proven experience providing direct ENL instruction to individual and/or small groups of students; of creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported and challenged; and working closely with classroom teachers, administrators, related services staff, and community organizations.Requirements: NYSED Certification English to Speakers of Other Languages/TESOL. Dual Certification Special Education or Childhood Education preferred but not required. Experience with administering diagnostic and state-mandated assessments of English Language Learners (ELLs) required. Experience teaching students who speak another language how to communicate in English and how to understand spoken English is required.Additional skills/experience sought:Progress monitoring, record-keeping and reporting as required by district practice and regulations.Experience working with students from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and inclusion of culturally relevant and diverse perspectives into instructional materials and resources;Excellent communication skills in writing, speaking and listening.Salary commensurate with experience and on par with Dobbs Ferry United Teachers Contract.
