The Dobbs Ferry School District seeks an exceptional educator to join our Special Education team at the Dobbs Ferry Middle School (Grades 6-8). The successful candidate will work in partnership with their general education colleagues using Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) as our model in improving our curriculum and instruction in literacy practices and instruction, and our new mathematics curriculum for all students to access. This is a full-time, probationary, tenure-track position effective August 30, 2023. Terms of employment are in accordance with the Dobbs Ferry United Teachers contract. We are seeking a candidate with proven experience with administering and interpreting standardized educational evaluations, developing and implementing accommodations and modifications within a general education setting, skills in developing IEPs with student-specific goals and data-driven progress monitoring. Assists teaching staff in implementing IEPs and behavioral management plan. Experience with Orton-Gillingham, Wilson and/or any other phonics-based reading program desired, but not required.NYSED certification required: Special Education K-12; or SWD 5-9 Generalist.The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE legislation effective July 1, 2001.Apply via OLAS by April 10, 2023.
