The Dobbs Ferry School District seeks a Teaching Assistant for our new Primary Project classroom at Springhurst Elementary School, effective August 28, 2024. This is a full time (10-month, Sept. - June), tenure-track position. Salary commensurate with experience and on par with the CSEA Clerical, Teacher Aide/Teaching Assistant contract. Starting annual salary range: $27,124 - $34,757. Requirement: NYSED Teaching Assistant Certification, Level I or higher. As per NYSED teaching assistants provide instructional services to students under general supervision of a certified teacher. The successful candidate will lead or assist in various activities, aid in the development of educational material, and perform other related duties as assigned.Description: The Primary Project (Grades K-3) Teaching Assistant works under the general supervision of the school counselor and/or mental health professionals. The Primary Project Teaching Assistant facilitates small group play sessions with children that are designed to establish a positive meaningful relationship to reduce school adjustment difficulties. The successful candidate is adept at working with data and responsible for progress notes and program measures, including record-keeping and reporting; can provide feedback to the Primary Project team, including administrators, teachers, and other school personnel; participates in ongoing professional development and training related to Primary Project. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; is regularly required to climb, squat, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl; to reach above the head and reach forward; is regularly required to use hands and fingers to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls, and to talk and hear; is occasionally required to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds.Apply via OLAS by 5:00 p.m. on June 17, 2024.
