The Dobbs Ferry School District has an immediate vacancy for an English as a Second Language Teacher (ENL) at Springhurst Elementary School effective approximately February 8, 2023. This is a full-time, probationary/tenure track position serving grades K-5. New York State Certification ESL/ESOL required; Dual Certification Common Branch K-6 preferred. Salary commensurate with experience and terms of employment are in accordance with the Dobbs Ferry United Teachers contract. The successful candidate will have the following attributes:Experience working with students with diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds;Willingness to perform community and family outreach;Solid communication skills in writing, speaking and listening;Familiarity with recent ENL (ESL/ELL) reforms and "best practice" as well as various ENL (ESL/ELL) methodologies such as SIOP;Experience successfully collaborating with content and grade-level teachers;Familiarity with Wilson's Fundations, Primary Mathematics, Special Education and Early Childhood Literacy;Strong technology skills;Familiarity with NYSITELL and NYSESLAT administrationQualified candidates may apply via OLAS by January 24, 2023.
