The Dobbs Ferry School District has immediate vacancies for up to five (5) K-12 Teaching Assistants in the Special Education Department. Four positions are full-time, probationary/tenure track positions at Springhurst Elementary School, Dobbs Ferry High School, and Dobbs Ferry Middle School; one position is temporary (leave replacement) at the Dobbs Ferry High School through June 30, 2023. All positions are thirty-five (35) hours per week, Mondays - Fridays.Description/Essential Duties: In accordance with the New York State Department of Education, teaching assistants provide instructional services to students under general supervision of a certified teacher. These positions require working on a 1-to-1 basis with a student with special needs or multiple students, including providing hygiene needs for students with IEP or 504 plan. Duties may vary depending on students' specific needs. Lead or assist in various activities; aid in the development of educational material. Requirements: High School Diploma/GED and Level I Teaching Assistant Certification within four (4) months of employment. Compensation: Terms of employment are in accordance with the Dobbs Ferry UFSD Clerical, Teacher Aide/Teaching Assistant Unit. Starting salary range is $24,792 through $31,975 plus an additional $2,562 hygiene stipend.
