TITLE:Licensed Teaching Assistant - Welding LOCATION:Career & Technical Education classrooms:Pole Campus, Norwich, NY REPORTS TO:Principal TERMS:10 Months, Full-time QUALIFICATIONS:Certified, or eligible to become certified, as a NYS Licensed Teaching Assistant. Experience in the welding field (MIG, TIG and stick welding, oxy-fuel and plasma cutting, print reading and other relevant trade skills), familiarity with mechanical tools and equipment commonly used in welding and fabrication and the ability to work with high school students. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:Assist CTE teacher in the delivery of all aspects of the CTE program. Duties include assisting classroom teachers in monitoring students, record-keeping, and guiding students as they practice newly acquired knowledge and skills while ensuring their safety. Providing support and assisting the teaching faculty in managing the Welding lab, preparation spaces, equipment, tools and storage spaces to ensure function and compliance with safety standards. This position requires someone to have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. SALARY/BENEFITS:Starting salary $30,711 - $42,859.
