POSITION: American Sign Language Teacher Full Time Probationary Appointment LOCATION: High School QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certified (or certifiable) in American Sign Language and/or Deaf & Hearing Impaired. Familiarity with current research, methodology and learning standards in American Sign Language. Previous background/ experience desirable. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are examples of typical duties associated with the position; but the list is not all inclusive, and other duties appropriate to the position may also be assigned. 1. Delivery of American Sign Language program; 2. Participation as required and/or able, on building and district curriculum or program committees; 3. Participation in building planning/problem solving efforts as needed or required; 4. Articulation of student program and progress to parents.
